HELP & ADVICE

  • The CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre) website has an excellent searchable database of resources for use with different key stages on a range of safeguarding issues, including its free ‘THINK U KNOW’ and Exploited resource packs aimed at supporting schools  

  • The NSPCC has useful information and resources on CSE, including a factsheet for schools and a checklist for making sure your children avoid the dark side of the web

  • Barnardo’s has produced an award winning, interactive app, ‘Wud U?’, which educates young people about behaviours which could increase their risk of being exploited. It can be used in groups to help engage young people in discussions on sensitive issues

  • Barnardo’s ‘Real Love Rocks’ has resources focusing on helping children and young people to think and chat about relationships, what they are, and how to keep happy and safe in them, whether that’s now or in the future. One is aimed at primary school children in year 6 and there is another for young people in years 7-9 at secondary school

  • Respect Yourself - Warwickshire County Council's website to help young people understand and manage relationships. The website covers everything from healthy relationships to sex, contraception and STIs

  • Disrespect NoBody - a website aimed at young people with information about; sexting, relationship abuse, consent, rape, porn as well as where to get help and support

  • NWG Network - the Government response unit for CSE the NWG network website has a range of information and resources for professionals, parents and carers and young people

  • Centre of Expertise on Child Sexual Abuse - the Centre identifies, generates and shares high quality evidence of what works to prevent and tackle CSA (including CSE) to inform policy and practice

  • CSE Superhero Training Package - developed by Sandwell and West Birmingham CCG in partnership with the Children’s Society and endorsed by NHS England. The package is to raise awareness amongst healthcare professionals about CSE. The theme was developed in response to a challenge at a National Conference from the mother and brother of a young woman murdered trying to help her friend who was a victim of CSE

  • faceup2it - a website designed by young people for young people to raise awareness of CSE and signpost to help and support.
